What students say about my courses

I am a design student, and my professor recommended Will for learning KeyShot. Not only is he good with KeyShot, his ability to communicate his points as an instructor is fantastic. One of the strengths and the weakness of KeyShot is its simplicity: it often leaves users clicking on things and achieving excellent results without understanding how and why. Will was able to communicate clearly what each tool does. I would strongly recommend this course to anyone starting out with KeyShot.

Very good input, for me to get clear about many of the functions possible! I could review this course a dozen times afterwards, to get every detail. Please do more of this!

Taking the Material Graph class with Will was the best thing I could do to improve my rendering skills and learn how to use KeyShot more intuitively. Will was demonstrating creative ways to use the material graph, creating new textures and geometries. Will taught us the rationale behind the different features and how to use them smartly. I learned so much in those 2 hours than what I've learned in 4 years of study. I'll definitely sign up for more classes in the future. Thank you Will!

Great class on KeyShot Material Graph. We would have to look for help in many other places otherwise. Overall Will is friendly and welcoming. I think it's worth attending the class. Look forward to seeing the next one. Thanks Will.

For those who want to expand their knowledge on the material graph and gain some professional tips on how to add final touches to a rendering, this course is a must. Don't think about it, just sign up and enjoy upgrading your presentation of your idea to the next level.

The course was super interesting and very well structured. Even if only a small part can be treated within the available time, such a course motivates a lot more than a recorded tutorial.

Will did excellent demos to explain the use of material graphs. He repeated steps along each demo and showed us different outcomes. I am very satisfied with what I learned and super pumped about using KeyShot!

It was an extremely useful class especially for people who are beginners to intermediate levels. I would recommend anyone starting to learn KeyShot not to waste a day but to learn the material graph from Will. Believe me when I say it was good - being here in Australia it was 2 in the morning and the class went on till almost 5 and I stayed up. The concepts were explained progressively and the course covered pretty much the tools that would normally in course of time be used to create amazing materials. Overall 100% recommended!

If you're looking to up your KeyShot game and understand how to use the material graph but don't know where to start, Will Gibbons is the perfect starting point for all that and more! I've been using KeyShot for a while now and taking his class on the basics of setting up materials in the material graph has completely changed my outlook on how I go about rendering now. I learned things I wish I knew when I was starting out! Would totally recommend you take his classes!

This course taught me to look at materials not just from a high level, but to understand the layers and complexity that make them look truly realistic. Before, I didn't understand what makes a material convincing in KeyShot. Now I understand the software's full capabilities and navigate it with confidence. The result: stronger visuals, more confidence, and a reference I can come back to whenever I get stuck.

Will is super talented, his lectures are always easy to follow and straight to the point. This course has helped me become comfortable with the material graph and explore its potential. I appreciated the content, the PDF I can keep and refer to, and the source files to practice with. I plan to keep purchasing tutorials from Will and supporting his work.

This is an introductory course covering the essentials of the Material Graph. For a comprehensive treatment of every material type, texture, and node in KeyShot, see the KeyShot Material Masterclass.

Here's the problem.

KeyShot's Material Graph is one of the most powerful tools in the software. It's also the one that stops most designers in their tracks.

If you've opened it, looked at a web of nodes and connections, and quietly closed it again — this course is the right starting point. It won't turn you into a Material Graph expert, but it will make the tool feel approachable and give you the foundation to start using it on your own projects.

What This Course Covers

Theory Lecture

Why you should use the Material Graph, how it works conceptually, and what connects to what. Covered via slideshow with a PDF you can keep for reference.

Live Demonstration

Four distinct material types created step-by-step. Through repetition you'll start to recognize patterns and see how the most common nodes are used together.

Live Q&A

Questions from the original live class attendees, answered with additional visual demonstrations. Extends the teaching with more practical examples beyond the four materials covered in the demo.

By the end you'll understand the logic behind the Material Graph, know how to navigate the interface, and be able to start building your own materials using the most commonly needed nodes.

Meet your KeyShot instructor

Hey, I'm Will. My first 3D rendering, back in college, looked like trash... but I was instantly hooked. I spent years figuring it out the hard way: freelancing, hanging around online forums, and slowly getting good enough that Luxion (the makers of KeyShot) hired me to teach it full-time. I spent three years training design and engineering teams at companies like Apple, Tesla, and Intel.

Since then I've started my own visualization studio and taught thousands of students through my courses. I built this one to give you the shortcut I never had — the real techniques and workflows, without the years of trial and error it took me to find them.

FAQ

Have questions? I have answers.

Do I need a powerful computer?

A more powerful machine always helps. For minimum system requirements, refer to KeyShot's website.

Do I need a background in film or photography?

Not at all. The course includes lessons on composing strong images and animations, studying great work, and improving your own output.

Can I download the video lessons?

Not at this time — this is a platform limitation.

Can I get a receipt or invoice to expense this purchase?

Yes. Instructions are included in the files and downloads section of the course.

Is there a payment plan?

Not at this time. I've priced the course as low as I can without undervaluing the content. If it's out of reach right now, my free content — YouTube, website, and newsletter — can help build your skills and earning power in the meantime. The course will be here when you're ready.

Are there student discounts?

No. Everyone taking this course is a student. At this price point, it's a fraction of the cost of formal education. If you're serious about building skills as a student, consider this an alternative to a college course.

Can our studio or team share the course?

The license is for individual use. For team or corporate access, email will@willgibbons.com to discuss bulk pricing.

Do I get updates if you improve the course?

Yes. Lifetime access includes all future updates at no additional cost.

What if I don't have time to finish?

You have lifetime access. The average lesson is under 4 minutes — shorter than a song. Watch on your phone, download for offline viewing, or fit it into a lunch break. 15–20 minutes daily is enough. Consistency beats intensity.

How long will I have access to the course?

You'll have access for as long as the course is online.

How long will I have access to the course?

You have lifetime access. If I ever stop selling this course, I'll make all content available to download for free. Go at whatever pace works for you.
